Our Counselors

Edward Brown, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #86027

Director of Shasta Options

My educational journey began in Addiction Studies, graduating from Mission College in Sylmar, California in 2003. In 2004, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with distinction from Simpson University. I continued my education at National University, where I obtained a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology in 2006.

My mission as a counselor is to help clients find purpose while supporting recovery from trauma, depression, anxiety, and anger. I bring extensive experience in mental health and addiction treatment and am deeply committed to guiding clients toward healing and lasting change.

Laura Stockton, Associate Professional Clinical Counselor #17740

Laura is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor who holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. Recently retired from a long career as a high school teacher, she brings extensive experience working with youth and has also supported individuals across the lifespan through her clinical training.

Laura integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy and is trained in EMDR. She strives to help clients overcome trauma, identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns while guiding them to re-frame their personal narratives in ways that support healing and growth. Her goal is to assist individuals on their path toward self-awareness, resilience, and self-actualization.

Shyanne Kay, Associate Professional Clinical Counselor #21445

Shyanne grew up in Texas, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Park University and began her graduate studies in Clinical Counseling at St. Edward’s University. After relocating to Redding, she continued my education through Walden University’s online program, where she completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling.

Throughout her professional experience, she has worked with children, adolescents, couples, families, and groups in both social work and therapeutic settings. These roles have allowed her to gain a broad understanding of diverse clinical needs and life experiences. As a therapist, she values a collaborative and client-centered approach, tailoring treatment to each individual’s unique strengths, goals, and challenges. Shyanne's aim is to provide a supportive and thoughtful space where clients can explore concerns, build skills, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.

Elizabeth Stamps, Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist # 109909

Hello! I work with individuals struggling with trauma, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. I have experience supporting clients with severe depression, post-traumatic stress, addiction, anxiety, and dual diagnosis.

Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and a variety of other therapeutic approaches, I help clients achieve their personal goals and find greater purpose in their lives. I work with children and adults, ages 6 to 59+, and tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs.

For the convenience of my clients, I offer evening appointments until 8:00 PM and Saturday availability. I accept Beacon and Partnership insurance, and also offer a sliding scale for cash pay.
